The Steinbright Career Development Center, in association with the Drexel Learning Center’s Peer Leader program and KTE Co-op Honor Society, will host “Explaining the B-round: Understand Your Co-op Options” today, March 8, 2010 from noon to 1 p.m. and Tuesday, March 9 from 5 to 6 p.m. The presentations will be held in the SCDC conference room, 3201 Arch Street.

The end of the A-round is fast approaching for students with spring/summer co-op cycles. The workshop will answer questions such as “What is ranking?”; “What is a qualified alternate?”; and “What are my options?” and offer insight and tips into utilizing the SCDConline system. Experienced co-op students will share their experiences and answer questions.

As of tomorrow July 9th, 2009 the A round rankings for the fall/winter co-op cycle will be available! The rankings will be available until Monday July 13th and 5pm so you until then to accept, decline, or rank your offers.

A few important reminders about rankings from Drexel:

♦If you choose to “rank” instead of “accept” a job offer you are no longer guaranteed that job.

♦Do not rank a position if you are not interested in working with that employer. By ranking a position that means you are accepting the position if you are paired with the employer.

♦If you are paired through the optimal pairing process, you are required to honor that placement and complete your six-month co-op assignment with that employer.

The results will be available on Tuesday July 14th.

Students can now register for the Spring 2009 career fair. The event takes place on April 8, 2009 from 10:00AM until 3:00PM. The following is from Drexel’s SCDC website.

“Drexel University is pleased to host some of the largest university-held Career Fairs in the Greater Philadelphia area. Held in April and October, these events attract more than 250 employers nationally. Approximately 1,000 Drexel students and alumnae/i attend this event, along with students from other area universities.”
