If you are a finance major or simply interested in learning about the markets then this is the perfect fit for you. You will be working for the Largest publicly traded asset manager in the U.S. at the Princeton location you work as a trading assistant for the municipal bond desk which trades billions of dollars making it the largest in the world. You assist the desk by giving them buy/sell tickets inputing trades and keeping records of them. You also get to use bloomberg which is a software that is used to track the markets and communicate with brokers. Communication is key as you will have to relay messages and talk to people in wall street and portfolio managers in different areas of the U.S. The people you work with are simply the classiest people you could ever wish for, they will accommodate you every way possible an make sure that you feel right at home. They introduce you to ppl in the business and from time to time you are invited to dinner with them in Places like NYC. Everybody is extremely respectful and treats you like you are part of the group, it is simply a top of the line organization.
The few back draws to the positon is the commute, if you dont live near princeton and are commuting from philly or somewhere else be prepared to deal with crappy traffic and bad weather, also although the people are extremely welcoming there were times were i felt they could do a better job in communicating with me or tried to involve me more in daily activities, but other than that this job is a gift from heaven if you are a finance major. |
